Description:
A fine quality, early Victorian period, rosewood fitted jewellery box. This box is beautifully shaped all the way round and is highlighted by bands of gadrooned carving, it has a lovely original colour and polished surface. The centre of the top and the escutcheon are inlaid with mother of pearl. The box which has a working key, stands on its original brass feet. The lid opens to reveal a fitted tray which can be removed to reveal a large space below. The tray is a replacement. Sizes:11 ½”(29cms) wide, 8 ¼ “(21cms) deep, 6 ½ “(16cms) high. Date circa 1840
