A very decorative early 19th cent Dutch tobacco box, the top and bottom are made in brass, the central section is in copper. This box has a well defined parochial scene engraved on the top consisting of a lady drawing water from a well, a church and a village house. The condition is generally excellent with a good tight original hinge. There is a small split in the front of the lid, please see photograph. Sizes: 6 ¼ “(16cms) wide, 2 ¼ “(6cms) deep, 1 ¼ “(3cms) high. Date circa 1820.
