Description:
A superb quality Victorian sewing, side table made mainly in golden figured oak. This table has a wonderfully rich old polished surface and colour, because of this, it would fit in well with many different types of timber. The top has a broad cross banding of satinwood which is further profusely inlaid with rosewood. The locking top opens to reveal further inlay with an interior fitted with eleven compartments and five original fretted lids, these are made in rosewood. The table stands on barley twist end supports and platform bases with scroll feet, these are joined by a carved fret stretcher, it is polished all the way round and therefore centre standing. This table is in excellent strong, original condition throughout. Sizes: 24”(61cms) wide, 17 ¼ “(44cms) deep, 27 ½ “(70cms) high. Date circa 1870
