Description:
A fine early 19th cent Staffordshire pottery group known as ‘The Tythe Pig Group’. This depicts a destitute husband and wife offering their baby as ‘tythe’ or rent to their landlord who happens to be the local vicar. This figure has had some damage and repairs to the brocage, otherwise it is in good condition. Sizes: 7”(17 ½ cms) wide, 3 ¾ “(9 ½ cms) deep, 5 ½ “(14cms) high. Date circa 1820.
